NExT (June 13-14, Northside Entrepreneurship + Technology) is bringing two days of panel discussions, presentations and tech demonstrations from established business leaders and upstart innovators to North Brooklyn.
FREE REGISTRATION here, for the NExT Expo.
What began humbly back in 2011 as Northside Ideas has since grown into the biggest meeting of the most creative and innovative minds in business and technology. New York City’s entrepreneurs are leading a nationwide shift in the way companies are built and grow, and the NExT Conference is your opportunity to see them all in your proverbial backyard. We’ve tapped some of the biggest names in technology and business to speak at the NExT Conference. Stay tuned for the 2013 speaker lineup. We’ll be engaging these innovators (and many, many more) in discussions and panels at Brooklyn Bowl, the Wythe Hotel and Brooklyn Brewery. Plus, NExT will be hosting networking events and workshops over the two days to help connect the city’s established business leaders with tomorrow’s upstart innovators. As we get closer to June, we’ll post a comprehensive schedule so you don’t miss anything that NExT has to offer (there’s a lot).

This year, NExT is hosting a totally free trade show called the NExT Expo, a showcase of some of the most exciting companies and start-ups from around the city. The NExT Expo will host special programming, a job fair to connect young engineers and executives to local tech opportunities, and hundreds of companies showcasing their solutions and innovations. The NExT Expo will take place on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14 at McCarren Park (Bedford and N. 12th, right next to the tennis courts), and we mentioned it’s free, right? That means no admission fee and no badge required. Click here to RSVP.

Brooklyn’s eight-day, multi-venue music, technology and entrepreneurship festival will get more inspiring this year with six teams of the nation’s top makers, builders and hackers competing in a 72-hour themed LIVE build at Williamburg’s McCarren Park. Starting with the topic announcement on Wednesday, June 12 and the creativity starting Thursday, June 13 during Northside’s tech and innovators showcase, NExT, Red Bull Creation’s pre-qualified teams of four will inspire, plan, produce and ultimately unveil a unique creation while festival goers look-on and interact. The competition will finish during Northside’s free McCarren Park concerts taking place over the weekend, where winners will be announced and invited to share their 72-hour achievement for the more than 5,000 capacity venue.
Six teams will compete in the 72-hour live build. Whether veterans from previous Red Bull Creation competitions or selected after the “TurBULL Encabulator” qualifying round, these teams have an incredible range of experiences from building a neon blow-up strength tester, a multi-screen storefront video display to an 80’s pop inspired, LED lit, sensor-powered flying creation. This will be a competitive and high-stakes year as reigning talent goes up against the new. To check out videos of all qualifying submissions, click here.
